How to Sell Through Online Auctions by Nily Glaser
Imagine yourself making the perfect sale to people who are looking for you, instead of the other way around. Imagine getting at least the price you want (if not more) from people who will value and love the item they bought from you. Now stop imagining and start selling in online auctions! Auctions in general, and online auctions in particular, play a large role in today's economy worldwide. You can find just about anything out there. You can also sell just about anything on Auction sites. You probably know about eBbay, Yahoo and Amazon online auctions, but do you know that there are literally hundreds of niche auctions? As a crafter or artisan interested in this type of selling, you'll probably do best by listing on specialty and niche auctions that cater to your market. Following are but a few online niche auction sites you may wish to consider as appropriate to selling your arts/crafts. For example: Pottery Auction - for pottery lovers Auctions vary in the terms and conditions offered the sellers. They all offer free membership to buyers. Some actions require a monthly flat fee, others charge on a per item listing fees and a percentage of the concluded sale and still others charge only a percentage of the value received at the close of an auction. The common denominator that is applicable to all and the reason they draw buyers and sellers is that they are fun and exciting.
Buy-Sell Tips
Whether you are a buyer or a seller there are a few things you must be
aware
of. If you are a buyer, ask any and all the questions needed to make
sure
you will be satisfied with your purchase. If the seller does not have a secure
credit card availability, either pay by
check or money order, or ask them to contact you by phone to acquire your credit card number.
Do not just e-mail your credit card
information. If you do choose to email your credit card
information, divide it and send it
by two or three separate e-mails.
That way only the seller will have the full information.
If you are a seller, be sure to
indicate that all checks need to clear the bank before you send out the items.
Payments by credit card must be accepted by the credit card issuing company before you ship.
