Pricing for Catalog Companies

The right information at the right time enabled this reader to "stick to her guns"

I discovered you the day I was wringing my hands about what to do.

I had been contacted by three catalogs who wanted to carry my limited-edition sculptures. Two told me to raise my prices, which I did, but another one told me they're "a little pricey." So, despite all my years of research (including some of your books) I found myself having great doubts.

I was all set to begin seriously marketing them, was comfortable with the wholesale price, and ready to get my first press releases and catalog printed. But now I was wondering: Maybe no one will pay that much for them (despite the fact that a few people already have!) and if they won't, I'll have to give up because I just can't afford to sell them for less.

So I went surfing and found you (through a connection from the Crafts Report). Thanks to you, I found one of your articles there that gave me the reassurance I needed to "stick to my guns," and I also found a new mentor–you! Thanks. - Patricia Banker, Saints Preserved
