Harry Brabec was a symphonic musician and legendary Chicago drummer greatly admired by his peers. During his lifelong musical career, he worked with countless entertainers, bands and orchestras, including the National Symphony in Washington, D.C., the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera, the Shubert Theatre in Chicago, the NBC Symphony of Chicago and, in his earlier years, the jazz bands of Wayne King, Woody Herman, and Chuck Foster.

Harry's mistress was indeed music, but he also had a lifelong love affair with books, and he collected some of the finest and now most sought-after books in all of the musical and entertainment categories.
