Photo of the Month - "A Pristine Snow Landscape"

As January closed here in the Chicago area, we
were enjoying unseasonably warm 55-degree weather with no snow in sight. But
just a year ago, on February
1-2, 2011, the Chicago area received nearly two feet of snow. Since I didn't
have to go out in that weather or worry about clearing my driveway, all I had to
do was appreciate the quiet, pristine beauty of the new fallen snow in my back yard.
This picture was taken several hours after the snow had stopped, and what
I found surprising was that I couldn't see a single animal or bird track
anywhere. It was as if all of God's creatures had holed up in their burrows and
nests and either hadn't yet had time to dig out, or simply lacked the courage to
venture forth. - Barbara
